Uke and Sing is written by a Music Educationalist for whole class music teaching through singing and playing the ukulele, with a strong cross-curricular bias. Sue Snell is a Music Consultant for Buckinghamshire Music Service's Central Team, and has developed and 'field-tested' the repertoire in the course of her work supporting and training primary school teachers, enabling them to deliver music, instrumental and singing programmes effectively within their own school.

The book is published in two parts. The pupils' book is a stand alone publication with play-along CD. The teachers Book contains invaluable notes about historical context, instrumentation, ways of teaching the song, fun “games” and interractive teaching methods which really engage children. This is unlike any other publication available. Sue is a specialist in the field of Historic Performance and has carefully researched the history behind each song.Uke and Sing are offering three packages to schools:

Do It Yourself

Buy the book and use it in your own creative way. We are able to supply class sets of ukuleles which have been set up with stickers and tuned regularly over a two week period to settle the strings. Class sets of books and ukuleles will be supplied at a bulk purchase price.

School Support Package

A full package of training and ongoing support, including area training days, in-class support and lesson modelling, interractive website support and “Problem Clinic”, with training videos and mp3 files of the music, support to set up after school Uke and

Sing Ukulele Clubs, and area festivals for Uke and Sing young performers.

You would like an after school, or in school Uke and Sing Ukulele Club? We will find

a teacher, train them and supply all supporting material. You will be invoiced an hourly rate for that teacher's in-school services to you, or parents can be invoiced directly for after school club activities, and supply of books and instruments.
